It’s Fashion! It’s Fashion!

Old StuffIf you didn’t get that title, you’ve probably not heard of Santino Rice and probably never watched Project Runway 2’s reunion episode. You probably never saw an entire season of Project Runway either. You don’t know what you’re missing. Ahahahahah!

So, because I’m suddenly feeling down, I shall talk about fashion – for no other reason than to distract myself from moodiness. And anyway, Olympus Fashion Week in New York was just over. (That is, the Spring 2007 designer collections.)

*waves goodbye to all the guys who might be reading this*

Haha. I’m realistic, k. I don’t expect the guys to want to read about fashion. If you guys do, then cool. :D

(By the way, those two off-proportion drawings there on the left? That’s how my drawings looked like in Form 3. The proportions were… Ugh. It was a useful distraction during boring lessons like Sejarah and such, at least.)

Read on for a glimpse at this season’s fashions. Heheh

Sooooo… Fashion Week.

Prepare yourself for designer labels and names that you may not have heard of unless you follow fashion closely. I didn’t know some of them myself until I purposely went to and to check out the collections. :)

This season’s collections didn’t really appeal to me. Some designs did, but overall, I preferred last year’s spring fashions. A lot more colourful in general. Picked out some of my favourites this season:

The ‘in’ colours appear to be white, black, beige and the off-whites. A bit boring sometimes, but I thought Ralph Lauren’s collection was pretty good. My favourite collections this season probably belong to Ralph Lauren, Michael Kors, Oscar de la Renta and Zac Posen. (I favoured Donna Karan in Fall ’06; and in Spring ’06 I liked the Burberry Prorsum and Loewe lines, as well as Salvatore Ferragamo, Emma Cook, Valentino and Bottega Venetta. Also Michael Kors.)

Large belts and high/normal waistlines are still quite in. Flowing, lighter fabrics are generally the order of the day – typical of spring. (Fall fashions will generally have the heavier, richer fabrics.) The structured, almost architectural look is also popular at the moment, judging by the number of tailored looks and straight lines and angles I saw.
Because I’m feeling generous with my server space today, I shall give you more pics – just some of this Elf’s favourites from Spring and Fall 2006! :P
